  1. Welcome to Grace Christian Church! We are glad you can join us.
  2. GCC Youth Group Welcome Night is today, 9/7, 5:30–8pm at church. We’d like to start the year gathering together with all the youth parents to discuss our plans for the fall. This is the same date, time, and location for the September EM potluck dinner. We will set aside some time after dinner to address all the youth parents. We invite all youth & parents to join and bring a dish for potluck dinner. We will also discuss the youth ministry plans for the fall and set the tone for the year. NOTE: Regular Friday night Youth Group begins on 9/12. 
  3. Our Church-wide Fall Picnic is on Saturday, 9/20, 10am-1:30pm at Frying Pan Park (2709 West Ox Rd, Herndon). We invite all to join and bring a dish to share. Invite your friends and make this an event for introducing others to our church. NOTE: There will also be a 3k (~2miles) run/walk competition; the on-site registration is at 10am and the race will start around 10:30am. 
  4. We plan to have a Baptism & Profession of Faith worship service on Sunday, 9/21. Classes continue today.
  5. Lisa Updike, Director of Children’s Ministry at Covenant Presbyterian Church (Harrisonburg, VA) will lead a two-day Christian Education Seminar on 9/26–9/27 at GCC.
    • a. On Friday, 9/26 at 8pm, she will share in the Youth Group; topic “Why Am I Here Now”
    • b. On Saturday, 9/27, there will be two training sessions.
      • From 9–10:20am, there will be a session for parents: topics include how to help your children engage in worship service & how to lead family worship.
      • From 10:30am–12 noon, there will be a Sunday School teacher training session, covering Sunday School lesson preparation & classroom management.
      • Lunch is from 12 noon–1pm (It will be provided)
      • After lunch, from 1–2:20pm, there will be a session on “Teaching in a Variety of Learning Styles to Engage Every Student”
    • We encourage young parents, Sunday School teachers, assistants, youth teachers, & all those with a commitment or interest to participate.
  6. Weekly EM Bible Fellowship & Prayer is on Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm on site. All are invited. For more information, please contact Pastor Arthur <graphitude@gmail.com>.
